As much as we know about the work of our brain (which is actually the nervous tissue). We also know about how sensitive part of the body it is. For such a crucial part of body, a lot of protection needs to be taken.
Hence the brain is contained inside a box like structure made out of bone called the cranium which covers the complete brain. Then there are layers of meninges which have cerebrospinal fluid present between them to save the brain from sudden impacts or Shocks.
