on the basis of status of development
1 potential resources-the resources which are fond in a region but not have been utilized yet .eg solar and wind energy in Rajasthan
2 developed resources-the ones which have been surveyed and there quality and quantity have been determined but there use depends o technology and feasibility .eg -crude oil in china sea
3 stock-these resources have the potential to satisfy human needs but we don't have the appropriate technology to use them
4 reserve-they are subset of stock .they can be used with the current technical know how but they are not used right now ,may be they will be used in future
