There are many kinds of flying animals, including bats, birds, and variousinsects. ... Insect wings lack bones, butbird and bat wings have them. Butterflywings are covered in scales, bird wingsin feathers, and bat wings with bare skin.

In wings of insects bones are absent, whereas in wings of birds bones are present. wings of birds are covered with feathers whereas wings of insects are covered with scales.
