Answer:What is the most important historical event or period of time that you have lived through?

2.7 million jobs estimated for data science roles in 2020.

Kind of, yeah. I was early teen when it happened.

Little history context: In 1944 the Tsardom of Bulgaria lost the second world war and was pushed into Soviet influence, despite having so little of a Communist following. The Tsar died in 1943 and his son was crowned. The communists made him abdicate and run from the country.

Fast forward to the year 1996. USSR was dead. Bulgaria was a democratic republic for 5 years now. And then something interesting happened. Fifty years after the abolition of the monarchy, the Tsar - Simeon returned to Bulgaria and was met in many places by crowds cheering: "We want our King!"

The Tsar returned. The 9 y. o. kid in 1946 was now 59 y. o. man. .

In 2001, Simeon, who had by this time taken the name Simeon Borisov Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, announced he would return to Bulgaria to form a new political party, the (later renamed to NMSP), dedicated to "reforms and political integrity."

Simeon promised that in 800 days the Bulgarianpeople would feel tangible positive effects of his government and would enjoy significantly higher standards of living.

We didn't. It was a mess. The former Tsar just wasn't really cut to being the leader of a democratic country and Bulgarian had a lot of problems. At this point it's a running joke in Bulgaria to say “Yeah, like I'm gonna fix the court in 800 days…”.

Fun facts: when he started his political career and gave the first speech, many were amused by his way of talking. He actually talked like the people back in 1946. And I'm assuring you, the language has changed quite a bit..

Wiki facts: Simeon is one of the two last living heads of state from the time of WorldWar (the other is , 14th DalaiLama of Tibet), the only living person who has borne the title "Tsar", and one of only two former monarchs in history to have become the head of government through democratic elections (the other is the now-deceased of Cambodia).
