the trees in the thorn forest are short and they have very long roots so they can absorb water from great depth, they have fleshy stem which can store water for dry season, Sharpe spines provide protection from animals whereas mangrove forest can survive both in salt and fresh water, during high tide the roots get submerged and during low tide the roots can be seen, they have tangled root system which is an adaptation for survival in the soft soil and sometimes the roots are extended vertically above the ground in search of oxygen.
