The three sections of large intestine are cecum,colon and rectum. Now the difference is not anatomically but due to the functioning way.
cecum absorbs fluid and salt.
colon also absorbs fluid but mainly prepares the body waste to get it eliminated from body.
rectum stores the waste until there is urge from body.
