The whole forest was yellow because of autumn season. The first road was less frequented by travellers and was bent undergrowth . The second road was grassy and not frequented by the travellers. The common thing between the two roads was that they both line in the same condition.

Both the roads are covered by leaves which have yet to be trodden on and "blackened" thereby making the two roads look similar. However there is a significant difference between the two which sets them apart. The first road, as the poet said, "had a better claim" which means that first road was clearer than the other and so must have been travelled by a lot of people. However, after a distance it was covered by undergrowth making the "future" of the path unknown. The second road, as described by the poet was "grassy and wanted wear", which meant that it was less ravelled by and therefore was overgrown by grass. This road seemed more appealing to the poet and so he said that it "wanted wear".
