Viroids And  Viruses

Explanation:

  1. Viroids are free RNA particles of low atomic load with no protein coat while infections can have either RNA or DNA atoms embodied in a protein coat. Viroids are littler in size than the infections. Viroids contaminate just plants while infection taints a wide range of creature.
  2. The RNA of infections don't code for any protein and have a significant optional structure. As viroids don't add to the generation of any protein, it is hard to perceive how they influence the host cell. The most likely speculation is that they upset the typical articulation of the qualities at the degree of the RNA delivery person (mRNA) in this way influencing all the cell digestion.
  3. Viroids vary from infections on six focuses :
  1. They exist inside the cells as RNA particles just, without capsid nor envelope.
  2. They have just a single roundabout RNA strand which contains next to no nucleotides.
  3. Their RNA don't code for any protein.
  4. Dissimilar to certain infections, viroids needn't bother with the assistance of an infection to taint a cell.
  5. Dissimilar to an infection of which the RNA can be replicated in the cytoplasm or the core, the viroids RNA is duplicated in the core as it were.
  6. Exceptional systems must be utilized to identify their essence in the plant tissues.

Difference between virus and viroid

Explanation:

  • The genetic material of Virus may be  ssRNA, dsRNA,ssDNA or dsDNA. but viroid is contain ssRNA.
  • Virus contain capsid or envelope but Viroid does't contain any capsid.
  • Virus have protein structure but viroid does't have any protein structure.
  • As virus contain protein, thus heat can easily causes denaturation or they easily get affected by heat but viroid is not affected by heat as it does't possess  structure.
  • Virus mainly infect all living organisms but viroid affects the plant organisms only.
  • The size of virus is small but larger than viroid.
  • During replication, Virus produces protein but no protein formation takes place by viroid during replication and they replicates by using RNA polymerase II.
  • Virus are helical structure but viroids are spherical or rod shaped structure.
  • Example of virus are- EMV, Hepatitis virus etc and example of viroids are Potato spindle fiber viroid, Apple scar skin viroid etc.
