Volcanoes are classified on the basis of their activity on three types:

1. active volcano- volcanoes who erupted recently or some decades back.

2.dormant volcano- volcanoes who have not erupted once and are inactive at the present moment or have not erupted since millions of years.

3. extinct volcano- these are the volcanoes who have not erupted at all.
