Water and minerals are transported in plants by special xylem system. It consist of teachers and vessels which form a continuous path from root to stem and different leaves. In the down part of the plants roots actively take up ions using energy and by the help of diffusion the water comes inside the root as there is ions (solute ) and we know that solvent moves toward solute to maintain water level, so water is absorbed by roots and this whole process create a pressure called root pressure and this root pressure is important for the transportation of water in upward direction.

Moreover, during day leaves loss water in large amount and this create vacuum in xylem and also create a suction force called transpiration pull which is responsible for the transportation of water and minerals
