Q.How are we able to see distant and nearby objects clearly?

We are able to see the distant objects as well as the nearby objects clearly because our eye can focus the images of the distant objects as well as the nearby objects on its retina by changing the focal length of its lens. The focal length of the eye lens is changed by the action of ciliary muscles.

Q. Which part of eye helps in changing curvature of lens?

It is the second part of your eye, after the cornea, that helps to focus light and images on your retina. Because the lens is flexible and elastic, it can change its curved shape to focus on objects and people that are either nearby or at a distance. The lens provides 25-35% of your eye's focusing power.

Q.Why no image is formed at blind spot?

Because at that point optical nerves connect to retina and there is no surface for light to fall on...so no image is formed as no light is falling on blind spot.

Hope it helps uh...!

USEFUL INFORMATION : We are able to see distant and nearby objects clearly due to the elongation and compression of eye lens structure respectively. Our eye lens elongates to a certain limit while observing distant objects whereas our eye lens gets compressed to a certain limit while observing nearby objects.

POINT TO DISCUSS FURTHER : Ciliary muscles are those flexible muscles which makes the eye lens to change its shape as per the nature of vision of an object (either nearby vision or distant vision). Ciliary muscles can get relaxed while observing distant objects and they can also get compressed while observing nearby objects. Thus, the ciliary muscles are directly responsible for changing curvature of eye lens.

WHY NO IMAGE AT BLIND SPOT : No image is actually formed at blind spot as there is absence of rod and cone cells. Since there are no rod and cone cells in blind spot, no perception of vision takes place at this spot.

ROD AND CONE CELLS : Rod cells are responsible for dim light vision whereas the cone cells are responsible for bright light and coloured vision. Rod cell is cylindrical in shape but Cone cell is pyramidal in shape. Rod cell contains the pigment rhodopsin whereas cone cell contains the pigment iodopsin.
