Atoms can neither be Created nor be destroyed.

And if we talk about how they formed,they formed after Big bang,it was the period when our universe was being made about billions of years ago.And the energy was converted in elementary paticles such as neutron,protons,electrons ,quark etc. such that atoms of different elements are formed.
