Answer:The oxygen is released from plants during the process photosynthesis.Then oxygen is taken by humans and animals for the process of respiration and breathing and they release out carbon dioxide during breathing and carbon dioxide is again taken by plants during the process photosynthesis. This is how carbon dioxide and oxygen are maintained in atmosphere.
