I don't think you have read this beautiful poem....she likens the bangles to different aspects of nature....rainbow tinted circles of light....(if you look at the sun you see circles of different colours of light when you look away....then if you are on a mountain in autumn you see the mountains in a silver blue mist (the darkness and the greyish or silver mist mixing together) at dusk or dawn...the red bangles likened to the flames of the wedding fire; the yellow bangles to the fields of corn..the pale pink or white bangles likened to flowers buds when they first come out and the pale green leaves of the trees and bushes when they first come out in spring or during the growing season. The poem is full of colour and even talks of the purple flecked with grey that is associated with an older sophisticated woman.
