Belgium is a small country in Europe which has borders with France, Netherlands, Germany and Luxemburg.

Whereas, srilanka is an island nation, just a few kilometers off the southern coast of Tamil nadu.

2. It has a population of a little of one crore, about half the population of Haryana.

Sri lanka has a diverse population with about 2 crore people, about the same as Haryana.

3. Of Belgium 's total population 59% are Dutch speaking people who live in the Flemish region, 40% are French speaking who live in the Wallonia region. Remaining 1% speak German.

Total srilanka population has 74% Sinhala-speakers, 18% Tamil speakers and the rest 13% are called ‘srilanka Tamils '.

4. In Belgium power was shared among different language speaking group and the capital had different government.

While in Sri Lanka majoritarianism was followed.

5. In Belgium, the Dutch community could take advantage of its numeric majority and force its will on the french and German-speaking population. This could lead to a very messy partition of the country.

The majority people ruled over the country and minority’s wishes were disregarded. This distrust between the two communities led to civil war killing more than 1000 people of both the community.

6. in Belgium power is shared equally among the different communities and they are all given equal rights and in governments they are equally divided and each community can decide on what law is to be passed
