1. Administration: Islamabad is the capital city of Pakistan and is administered by Federal Government, whereas Rawalpindi is administered by Provincial government of Punjab.

4. Pollution: Islamabad has a considerably lower level of pollution as compared to Rawalpindi.
5. Living Standard: Living Standard of the residents of Islamabad is higher than the living standard of residents of Rawalpindi.
6. Cost of Living: The higher living standard of Islamabad's residents comes with a cost of living which is more than the cost of living in Rawalpindi.
