hey friend,

1) India was the richest country at that period. It was known as 'Golden Sparrow'.Britishers were impressed with the wealth. At those time the relation of the kings were not good.Britishers took opportunity and started ruling India. They also took many jewels, gold, silver etc. from India to England.

2) After Vasco da Gama discovered the sea route to India, the thing  Britishers were trying, The british started to trade with India. The Indian kings thought that they can use the help of British to conquer other areas if they helped them. So the Britishers thought that they will also take gold as well as also rule the country with the kings. this started in 1700s.

3) Those were the dark days for us. First, the British started taxes. Then they started conquering. Tipu Sultan's father was one of the first king to stop the British. After he was killed, the British were happy, but soon realized that Tipu Sultan was more powerful. After defeating the British, he became famous but was killed in vain in a war of British.the struggle was a long one. Many people died such as Bhagat Singh Rani of Jhansi, and the one who gave independence -Mahatma Gandhi.

hope it helps ✌
