I have issues with the English, but this is not true. They brought the game to India for their own entertainment. Later on the Royalty (Indian) became part of it as the British wanted them on their side. the natives stated playing it only much later. The 'divide and rule' policy was not introduced in cricket. It is a fact that there were clubs formed on the basis of religion, so you had the Hindu club, Muslim club, Parsi club, Christian club etc, but not on the basis of caste
