If we connect the resistances in parallel....
then , total resistance =1/2 + 1/3 +1/6
=3+2+1/6=6/6=1ohm
If we connect the resistances of 3ohm and 6ohm in parallel and the 3 ohm in series ,
I.e. 1/R =1/6 +1/3=1+2/6=3/6 =1/2
therefore, 1/R =1/2
hence R=2
Now, in series, R =2 +2 ohms=4ohms
