Answers
Answer:
Whether it is high court or Supreme court Judge the process is same for impeachment:
First, 100 members of lok sabha or 50 members of rajya sabha should initiate the removal motion and give it to Chairman of rajya sabha or speaker of loksabha.
It depends on speaker/chairman to refuse or admit it.
If Speaker/chairman admits it, then he/she will constitute a 3 member committee to investigate into charges.
The committee will be consists of a. supreme court judge or chief justice of india b. Chief justice of high court c. distinguished jurist
If charges felt true by committee, then chairman/speaker will start impeachment process.
Then one house will pass the motion by special majority (2/3 of the total members present and voting)
After that another house will pass the same motion.
Finally, President will pass an order to remove the judge.
Till now, Soumitra sen is the only high court judge (of Calcutta) who has been impeached
