To make a permanent magnet, a ferromagnetic rod is placed in a solenoid and then a current is passed. The magnetic field of the solenoid magnetises the rod.

diya1537: is it right
diya1537: or not
diya1537: this answer is correct or wrong

A solenoid is the round or circular coil of wire which behaves as magnet when eletricity is passed through it. A solenoid can be made into permanent magnet by conneting the solenoid in a closed circuit by adding a ferro magnetic material inside it . By doing so the magn fld of turns of wire is concentrated in the centre of the coil making the ferromagnetic material into a powerful magnet.

diya1537: which is correct answer
adhikarisulav70: Both are but i have described a little more
