It is possible for a tiger, to know if another tiger has been patrolling his area, by the smell of the other one. A tiger always demarcates his area by urinating on the borders.Tigers know that there is another tiger in its area or not. Because they have very strong nose that helps in smelling. By the help of nose they can smell the smell of other tigers in its area.

As you know or you won't know that tigers breathing sound can be heard and forest is a very silent area so they can easily guess whether there is a tiger or not
