how can be solenoid used to magnetised steel bar ?

Hii friends

When electric current is passed through a solenoid, a uniform magnetic field is produced inside the coils. ... So placing a steel bar inside the coils of a solenoid with sufficient current passing through it will magnetise the steel bar.
