Copper cannot displace hydrogen from dilute hydrochloric acid because in electrochemical series copper is placed below the hydrogen and its electrode potential is less than H2 .

Calcium (Ca) and on the other hand the metals that come below hydrogen in the reactivity series for eg. Copper(Cu), Silver(Ag), Gold(Au) are less reactive than hydrogen and hence they cannot displace hydrogen.
