D2O ( deuterium oxide ) is also called hard water and it can be prepared by exhaustive electrolysis of water (H2O).
Physical properties :
Unlike water heavy water is a colourless, odourless and tasteless mobile liquid. Higher viscosity of heavy water is responsible for lower solubility of ionic solids like NaCl and smaller mobility of ions.
