dowry is a social evil as the grooms family expects a wholesome amount of money from the brides family. it could be in lakhs or a car etc but something costly.this culture is slowly banishing from india but still some illiterates are out there who just want money.i mean the whole large scale wedding is hosted by the brides family,the brides in-laws are the ones who are getting a servant(the girl,wife) to just handle the house and kids while the guy(husband) goes to work .so its a loss for the bride and her family in all ways...this happens in india as there is gender discrimination the guy is treated well unlike the girl so later on the guys family expects that they need money to handle a burden like a girl...i dont understand why its like you get a servant who will serve the in-laws and the husband and they dont even give money to take the girl instead the brides family gives thier money to take thier daughter. its like u buy a robot and u dont give the money the one who made the robot pays for it and the robot serves u.i really hate this culture and hope it goes from india like it has gone in other countries or the grooms family also pays money. u cant just take money from her as she is a girl child and not from the groom only because he is a boy..treat both equally and if u cant u have no right to be called a human...u make change,stop dowry, the whole world will stop one day...PEACE OUT
