Geothermal energy is the heat energy in the Earths interiors. The temperature at the centre of the Earth is about 6000C. In some areas, molten rock (magma) is found very close to the surface of the Earth. This hot rock meets underground water and heats it up. This produces steam. Such a place is known as ahot spot . Sometimes, this heated underground water finds an outlet through which it comes out on the surface of the Earth. Such outlets are known as hot springs .

geothermal comes from word geo matlab earth aur thermal matlab heat so total meaning of geothermal energy is heat energy from earthgeothermal power supplies less than 1% of the world 's energy.it is a renewable energy source because the water is replenished by rainfall and the heat is continuously produced inside the earthit is generated in the earth 's core, about 4,000 miles below the surfacegeothermal energy is used 2 heat their homes and to produce electricity by digging deep wells and pumping the heated underground water or steam to the surface.thats alll hope it helps
