Pituitary gland is the main endocrine gland. It's a small structure in head. It is called the master gland because it produces hormones that control other gland and many body functions including growth. And Pituitary gland consists of anterior and posterior Pituitary.

➡️It is attached to the hypothalamus by a stalk called infundibulum.
➡️Anatomically the pituitary gland is divided into adenohypophysis and neurohypophysis.
➡️Pituitary gland is Ectodermal in origin.
➡️It is a small, pear shaped gland, red-grey in colour.
