A good personality is fostered through developing good habits . So one's personality can be measured whole seeing his/her good habits . Some of the good habits are :-
Since we live in a society, we have to cultivate good manners and follow a certain code of conduct. It helps us to accept and recognise others in the right manner. But, nowadays It is seen that the manners are observed only as a part of life, of the individual. Manners do not come out from the core of your heart, but they become a mechanical at only. Less or no concern is shown towards the inner feelings or emotions. For example, when you meet the elders, you may express your respect in front of them in various ways, like saying 'namaste', like touching feet etc. Is it a sicere act or mechanical one? The society respect the great leaders of humanity in various ways. Think for a moment ..........What is your attitude towards those leaders? Do you sincerely remember that service to the immunity? No...Your thanks and words of respect are only a formality. For example, January 30th is remembered as the Martyrs Day. On this day, we remember those people who laid their life for the freedom of our motherland. It is the day on which we pay homage to our Father of Nation, Gandhiji. Every year, on this day, children in the schools observe a Silence of 2 minutes at approx 11 a.m. It is meant to pray for those Departed souls of the country who sacrificed themselves for us . You must have been observing this for last 8 to 10 years in your school. Did you ever pray for them sincerely, at least one time in your life ? Think.........It must be changed. In order to develop a good character, we have to cultivate good habits in ourselves. We should be sincere towards our actions . In other words, various good habits should become a part of our life.
Manners and Gratitude are different . Manners can be expressed verbally also. For example, when a subordinate meets his superior, he may salute or wish the superior in a perfect manner so that the superior is impressed. But , one can't express Gratitude like thus . Gratitude is quite different from this kind of external expression. Gratitude is the feeling that comes within the heart. It does not have the touch of ego. It is an act of respect, touched with kindness and affection towards the other. It is the innermost feeling of thanks felt at the bottom of our heart for the favours received. Through gratitude, we express our sincere respect towards others .
It is said that the honest people smile with their eyes. It is true. The place to look for honesty are eyes. Very often , we see the pictures of criminals on televisions or in the newspapers. They cover their faces when they see the people. Why? This very act itself gives the answer. They are not sincere and honest. So , they are ashamed of themselves. They do not want to look at others . It is said that honesty is seen in eyes . An insincere man is not able to smile or even look at others . Honesty is considered as a rubber stamp that can cover your shortcomings. Honest people do not fear anybody. Honesty discourage and girl power to speak the truth and face any challenge in life. Honesty gives you the power to motivate others also.
Forgiveness is considered to be a divine act. It should have a completion and sincerity. True forgiveness eliminates washes away the past fully and wholly . It is just like a bath after a play in the muddy ground. The shower makes you feel free from dirt. Similarly, forgiveness washes and removes all the negative feelings from your mind, it takes a man to a better level both mentally and physically. When you forgive others, remember to forgive yourself. Forgiving one's own self is an important part in one's life. One should forgive his own mistakes done in the past believe and accept the fact that it is not we, but it is God who forgive our sins.
Humility is defined as the mother of all the virtues. If you are not humble within yourself, you cannot develop anything good within you. The humility is a virtue that is inside a person, it is expressive and visible too. We cannot cover up humility. Humility admits and accept the mistakes and criticism with a kind and loving heart. A humble heart is ready to accept the other with all his positive and negative qualities. Look at the life of Mother Teresa. How great she was ! How she was respected by the world community! What was the reason behind it? There is only one answer before you. She was humble throughout her life. She stepped down for the benefit of poor. There she found the meaning of her life. Let us also try to be humble in our lives too.
