How can I know the difference between solving the word problem of a quadratic equation and linear equation? When I read the question they look the same.​

Always remember if the degree of the variable is 2 and only one variable is present i.e if you are getting the equation in one variable with degree 2 then it is a quadratic equation.

But if two variables are needed and the degree of them is 1 then its a linear equation.
