first make a table for each type soil by reading from the geography textbook.

Write the soil name in columns and its characteristics in rows.

do not write the characteristics in paragraph form but instead write only the main key words. for eg..

Type of soil             regions found                       minerals    other characters etc

Black soil                > maharashtra,Saurashtra    potash etc   good for cotton

alluvial soil             > ....................                         .......................          ...............

In this way you can form a table

after this memorize the table and write it without looking at it 5 to 10 times

i memorized the characters and types of soil in this way...
