how can I produce large amount of heat in steam engine working model candle flame is not working

you can try something with a high calorific value, like real coal or charcoal. you can add a little petrol to make it burn easily, but that is optional. or I think a bunsen burner will do.

sakash2209: sprit lamp might not provide you with that much heat. if you use it, you might want to use some device that would pressurise the steam
