a^2-b^2 = (a+b)(a-b)

Solution:

Given that, we have to prove:

a^2-b^2 = (a+b)(a-b)

Take the RHS of above identity,

(a+b)(a-b)

Multiply each term in first bracket with each term in second bracket

(a+b)(a-b) = a^2 -ab + ab -b^2

-ab and ab cancels each other

Therefore, we get,

(a+b)(a-b) = a^2-b^2

LHS = RHS

Thus the formula is proved
