How can I tide 42 cows into odd numbers on seven pilars

Here's one solution: Tie your favorite cow to the first pillar. Tie the other 41 cows to the second pillar. Forget the other pillars, leave them cowless; all the cows are tied, and no pillar has an even number of cows attached
