It's very simple!
You only need to know the chemical formula of the element.
For example-
CH3COOH
Here, you have a two-carbon molecule hence the prefix will be "ethan". And, you have a "COOH" carboxylic acid group, hence you have "Ethanoic Acid".
A simpler example-
NaCl
You have- the positive ion (Sodium) and the negative ion (Chloride).
Therefore you have Sodium Chloride.
