India as a democracy can meet its social challenges if the mindset of the society as a whole changes. This includes appropriate treatment of women, abolishing patriarchy, educating the masses, removing caste and religion based discrimination. We need to keep one thing in mind that differences are good, discrimination isn't.
Once we meet our social challenges, in which education plays a major role, we will be able to address the economic challenges such as poverty, economic slowdown, improving GDP, etc.
Thus, social and economic well-being are not separate. They need to be studied as one chunk.
