Genetic drift: process of evolution in which allele frequencies of a population changes over time due to chances

Speciation: is the process by which new species form

Isolation would mean that they will have to constantly evolve and adapt by themselves. And unlike natural selection, genetic drift doesn't depend on an allele's beneficial or harmful effect. It's purely by chance. So, if the population is large genetic drift can occur. Which may lead to a new species being formed.

Speciation can be driven by evolution, which is a process that results in the accumulation of many small geneticchanges called mutations in a population over a long period of time. ... Natural selection can result in organisms that are more likely to survive and reproduce and may eventually lead to speciation.
