Krypton is a stable compound because, although 4th shell can hold atmost 32 electrons but there is also a rule that the last shell(valence shell) of an atom must have 8 electrons. Any atom can't accomodate more than 8 electrons in its valence shells.
Since Krypton has 36 electrons, it fills its shell in order [ 2,8,18,8]. Since there are 8 valence electrons in valence shell of Krypton, hence, Krypton is a stable element.
