metals have metallic lusturs .when light falls on metals they reflect .but non metals absorbe the light when light falls on them.

i)Metals and non-metals be classified on the basis of lustre :-

  • Metals - Gold have shiny surface
  • Non-Metals - Coal do not have shiny surface

ii) No, coal can't used to make Bells. It is because coal is a non metal and it cannot have property of sonority which help them to make a sound when Hit hard.
