☆The mineral processing like grinding of limestone for cement industry calcite and soapstone for ceramic industry generate huge quantities of dust in the atmosphere. It retards the process of infiltration of water into the soil after it settles down on the land.

☆For mining, earth is dug, and before this, all the forest cover in that region is destroyed, and thus, it makes the soil loose leading to land degradation.
Over-irrigation makes the soil clayey and dampy, thus leading to land degradation. Over irrigation often cause the salinity of the soil to rise and this can be harmful for crop production.
