Chemistry Assertion

Molar conductivity of a weak electrolyte at infinite dilution cannot be determined experimentally.

  1. Reason- Kohlrauscha's law helps to find the molar conductivity of a weak electroylte at infinite dilution. Answer-Explanation of Assertion:- ( 1 ) Molar conductivity at infinite dilution of a strong electrolyte can be determined by extrapolation as linear graph is obtained.( 2 ) For weak electrolyte molar conductivity at infinite dilution cannot be determined experimentally and by extrapolation because graph is not linear , maxium value of molar conductivity at infinite dilution cannot be obtained.
