The land which can be used for the production of crops is called cultivable land but the cultivated land in an agricultural year is called net sown land and net sown land plus the land which is cultivated more than once in an agricultural year is called cross crop land.

Net sown area represents the total area sown with crop in a year on the other hand cultivable land is that which is capable of being ploughed and used to grow crops
