Nocturnal birds have mirrors in the back of their eyes so that it seems like their is more light than there really is. The mirrors in the back of their eyes are called tapetum lucidum. That is why if you shine a flashlight at an owl you might see two weird green lights shine back at you, those are the owls eyes.
