Soil pH can be measured in water (pHw) or a weak calcium chloride solution (pHCaCl). The pH range is from 0-14, with value of 7 being neutral.
hope it helps......

TAKE THE SAMPLE OF SOIL (1 OR 2 GRAMS ) IN A TEST TUBE
ADD SOME WATER TO IT
NOW USE PH PAPER
IF IT TURNS ORANGE THEN THE PH IS LESS THAN 7 (ACIDIC )
IF IT TURNS GREENISH BLUE THEN THE PH IS GREATER THAN 7 (BASIC)
GENRALLY THE PH OF A SOIL IS LESS THAN 7 (ACIDIC)
THANKS ☺
