Planting tress on large scale helps to reduce pollution caused due to the burning for fossil fuels by observing the carbon dioxide realised by burnings of fossil fuels and in turn replenishing the atmosphere in oxygen. They also trap other pollutant such as dust,ash,smoke and other harmful gasses

If trees are planted in large scale, the carbon dioxide gas present in atmosphere get absorbed by plants for photosynthesis.
Since burning of fossil fuels produce carbon dioxide, it get absorbed by plants. This will also increase the oxygen content in the atmosphere.
