How can population be a liability and also asset? Explain.​

Population can act as an asset as it brings the country the required GDP , pays the taxes, helps in the development of the country. A very good example of this is Japan, which invested in human resource.On the other hand population can be a liability as many people live under poverty these days , they require medical attention and can lead to the downfall of a country. An example for this is poorer countries like India at times.
