Answer: Resources can be classified on basics of demand as stock, reserves, developed, and potential

1) potential resources are the resources which have the potential to be developed and are present in abundance.

ex: wind energy in Rajasthan.

2)developed : the resources which are fully developed and are being used fall under this category.

ex: iron ore , petroleum products etc.

3) stock: the resources which have not been utilised due to lack of technology and knowledge are known as stock .

ex: H20 is made up of two gases, hydrogen and oxygen, but we don't know how to combine them, or...we don't have sufficient knowledge about it.. that's why it is stock.

4) Reserved : the resources which have the potential to meet our requirements and we also have the appropriate technology and knowledge to utilise them but are reserved to meet the needs of future generations..are known as reserve resources.

ex: water in reservoirs like dams ,etc.
