Answer:
Social development is defined as an on-going refinement of existing behavioral patterns, feelings, attitude toward others, and understanding of others. This article offers a short overview of the history of interest in social functioning of young children aged 0–6 years presenting the main elements of early social development and schooling. These are joint attention; peer relationships; and social play and social competence in school. Temperament as a factor, which relates to joint attention, peer relationships, and social play in early social development, was added as a separate paragraph. A paragraph on social competence is the final part of the article.
