It is a proof that what games does to a human brain is replicated only in war times. That pumping of adrenalin does happen in other times. People who support a team feel closer to each other than ever.

But there is one premise which I'd differ. It cannot supersede nationalism because it gives us a team to support. (Other than the club games and club games is also supporting own city and hence nationalism or reagionalism

Sports help people who don't like to involve themselves get out there and try new things while testing their own skills and abilities, and especially on team based sports, if your team isn't united or there is times when everyone isn't on the same page, your team could lead themselves to failure.
