How can technology lessen the damage caused by natural disasters?

pls it's urgent.....pls tell me the answer

As we were facing many natural disasters like lightning,earthquake,floods but now it has lessen.As now due to the new technology our houses are fitted with electricityconductors specially in buildings as the electricity conductors let the way of electricity to the ground,this prevent the building or houses from lightning effect.And now houses are made earthquake proof which prevents houses from the effect of earthquake.Now early warnings make people aware early before any natural disaster.
